Binh Tams poetry

49. Đôi bàn tay ai

Đôi bàn tay ai trẻ thơ
Lành hiền như đôi bướm trắng
Đậu xuống đời ta bao giờ
Đến nay vẫn còn vương phấn...

Đôi bàn tay ai thiếu nữ
Mười ngón thon thon nuột nà
- Mười cánh hoa lan hé nở
Tỏa hương lên bài thơ ta...

Đôi bàn tay ai trong mơ
Dịu dàng tỏa ngàn tia nắng
Sưởi ấm lòng ta trống vắng
Cho ta khi tỉnh thẫn thờ...

Đôi bàn tay ai bây giờ
Ngón gầy, vết chai nhiều quá
Hôn lên, ta mới sững sờ
Trách mình vô tâm đến lạ !

Đôi bàn tay ấy – tay em
Che anh khoảng trời bình yên...

49. Whose Pair of Hands

Whose pair of hands look like an innocent child’s
Which are as good-natured as a pair of white butterflies
Onto my life whenever have they perched
So that up to now their powder is still left...

Whose pair of hands look like a young girl’s
With ten fingers tapering, fair and glossy
- Ten in-slight-bloom orchid petals
Spreading their fragrance onto my poetry

Whose pair of hands are in my dreams
Gently emitting thousands of sunbeams
To warm my heart whenever it is lonely
So that when waking up I feel melancholy...

Whose pair of hands are at present
Thin and full of corns
Only when kissing them can I get stupefied
So that I have to blame for the indifference of mine !

Those pair of hands are yours, lassie
Hiding a peaceful sky space for me...

50. Phút chia xa

Em chưa đi, nửa mình anh đã lạnh
Nụ cười buồn héo rụng cuối sân ga
Tim hốt hoảng đập dồn nơi đáy ngực
Khi còi tàu hú gọi phía xa xa...

50. The Moment of Farewell

Half of my body are cold even when you haven’t departed yet
The sad smile has faded and dropped down at the end of the station platform
The heart beats hard in panic at the bottom of the chest
When the train-whistle is echoing from the distant zone...

51. Về đi em

Về đi, em hãy về đi
Bến xưa vẫn đó, trăng thề còn đây
Và anh thương nhớ đã đầy
Đêm đêm khắc khoải đợi ngày đón em...

Đường về, còn nhớ hay quên
Lối xưa hoa lá xõa mềm bờ vai
Bóng ai trong nắng đổ dài
Giật mình lại ngỡ bóng người năm xưa !

Cái thời khăn gói gió đưa
Đa đoan duyên nợ, em vừa đôi mươi
Qua bao bươn chải xứ người
Em còn giữ được nụ cười vẹn nguyên ?

Về đi em nhé, đừng quên
Mẹ già tựa cửa đêm đêm ngóng chờ
Đợi em trăng cũng ngẩn ngơ
Mây ngừng trôi, gió cũng vừa thôi bay...

Người anh yêu hỡi, có hay
Tình quê hương thật nặng đầy, đó em !

51. Come Back Now, Darling

Come back, come back now, darling
Our old wharf and moon of oath are still here
And my remembrance of you have been full
So that every night I wait for your coming like a cat on hot bricks...

Do you still remember the way back or have forgotten it
Our old path is now full of flowers and leaves touching my shoulder sides
Sometimes I get startled as if I saw the former girl’s image !
When someone’s shadow is prolonged in the sunshine

I remember a windy day you departed in the past
You were just twenty years old with a love burden
Do you still keep your smile intact
After experiencing  lots of ups and downs on a strange land ?

Please, come back, don’t forget to come back
Your old mother still waits for you every night, darling
Waiting for you, the moon is also astounded
The clouds stop drifting and the wind also stops flying...

Oh, my darling, do you understand that
The love of our native land is very profound and vast !

52. Niu Lang and His Wife

Once upon a time
There was a girl of twenty and Zhi Nu was her name
Who was a fairy living in Heaven
One day she was so bored that she flew down to visit the human beings’ land.
Erecting a hut by the river Ngan* to live
Was a lad having a string loin-cloth as his dress
His parents had been deceased for a long time
So he had to live alone without any friend
One day, after working on the field
He led his buffalo to the river wharf for a bath
Suddenly he saw a lassie
In the middle of the river Ngan swimming sometimes slowly and sometimes fast
She had put off her dress in a hurry
On the deserted river bank so that he had his heart agitated
The love sprang up in him suddenly
So that he took her fairy wings home and hid
When stepping ashore, Zhi Nu found out that
Her fairy wings had been taken away by the lad
Tired of a heavenly fairy’s life
She asked to stay with him as his wife.
Thinking that she could live peacefully
All her life with her good husband and baby
She didn’t know that in a thunderstorm awful and sudden
The Thunderer flew down and took her back to Heaven !
The lad was allowed to meet his better half
Only once a year after that moment
They cried for remembrance and love so much that
The human beings could know about the Ngau** rainy season.
                           *
Nobody can escape from his predestined affinity
